Lambda Nu

INDUCTION AND GRADUATION APPAREL

Lambda Nu (LN) is a national honor society for the radiologic and imaging sciences. It's objectives are to:

• foster academic scholarship at the highest academic levels

• promote research and investigation in the radiologic and imaging sciences

• recognize exemplary scholarship

It is critical that students and faculty inducted into local Chapters of Lambda Nu receive academic honor apparel appropriate to the graduation regalia used by the institution that sponsors the Chapter.

The primary recognition of Lambda Nu members occurs in two ways:

• Induction ceremony held by the local Chapter

• Graduation ceremony held by the institution sponsoring the local Chapter

The national office supplies the official Lambda Nu membership certificate to the individual upon receipt of an application approved by the local Chapter and accompanied by the appropriate induction dues fee.

Local Chapters may elect any of the following recognitions (bold indicates most common):

• presentation of the national membership certificate

• pinning with a lapel pin

• wearing the Lambda Nu maroon and forest green honor cord during graduation

• wearing the Lambda Nu maroon and forest green honor stole during graduation

• wearing the Lambda Nu maroon and forest green honor cap tassel during graduation

It is common practice to present graduation regalia during the induction ceremony in anticipation of the honor apparel being worn during the graduation ceremony.

Using honor apparel not purchased from Brown's is a violation of the local Chapter charter with the national office as contracts exist making Brown's the sole national vendor.
